Fund Public Sector Work
Through its Summer Stipend and Bridge to Practice programs, Richmond Law supports students seeking public sector work.
Summer Stipends
The School of Law will provide summer funding to students working in qualifying public sector positions. Qualifying public sector employment is unpaid, law-related work for a government agency, public interest organization or the judiciary. All students are guaranteed a stipend for at least one of their two summers provided that they file an intent to participate on Symplicity and a timely application and find a qualifying position. New guidelines and an application for Summer 2016 will be available online soon! There are also external sources of funding for unpaid summer internships, with varying criteria and deadlines.
Bridge to Practice Fellowship
Richmond Law encourages and supports recent graduates pursuing careers in the public sector by providing fellowship funding and enhanced career development services throughout their search for permanent employment. Fellowship recipients are selected by a faculty committee, and fellowships are for up to four months following the bar exam.
